Now Enrolling: 2022-2023 Volunteer Tutors
Please note: Invest In Youth staff and tutors follow COVID-19 safety protocols as outlined by Seattle Public Schools, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, and Seattle & King County Public Health. Updates and adjustments to these safety measures will be made as necessary.
We’re looking forward to the 2022-2023 school year and would love to hear from you if you’re interested in joining our team of tutors. We anticipate all tutoring will be conducted on-site at our partner schools, and our formula of one hour, one child, one day a week remains unchanged. You can expect to work with the same student during the entire school year to foster a truly meaningful relationship beyond building their academic skills.

How it works:
Volunteer tutors are paired one-on-one with a 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student for a full school year.
Schools are located in the Beacon Hill, Greenlake, Rainier Beach and Central District neighborhoods of Seattle.
From October through May tutors and students pairs meet once a week after the regular school day with other student-tutor pairs in a group setting. We ask volunteers to make a commitment to the whole school year.
STEAM enrichment continues and we are excited to offer this popular adjunct programming beginning in the fall of 2022.
Volunteers can expect to help students with their homework, read books together and work on math problems, all while serving in the important role of a mentor.
On-going tutor training is provided throughout the school year. Teachers and Invest in Youth staff members are always on-site to provide tutor support.
No prior education experience is required; just a desire to work with students identified by their teachers as those who will benefit most from this added one-on-one time with an adult mentor.
