enVision® Content and Standards
enVision® Mathematics was specifically developed for the Common Core State Standards for math. Each lesson is correlated to one or more of the content standards and one or more of the math practice standards. When helping your student, reference this document to understand the mathematical expectations for each content standard and to see how your child might engage with each math practice standard.
1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them: Analyze a problem, make conjectures, ask relevant questions and persevere in solving.
2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively: Attempt to make sense of quantities and how they relate to each other.
3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others: Communicate ideas effectively, analyze others’ thinking and decide whether it makes sense.
4. Model with mathematics: Apply known math to help solve real-world problems.
5. Use appropriate tools strategically: Select and use appropriate tools to solve problems.
6. Attend to precision: Use clear language and definitions to communicate mathematics precisely.
7. Look for and make use of structure: Look for patterns when solving problems.
8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning: Look for repeating calculations, general methods and shortcuts when solving problems.
